Who’s afraid of Virginia Woolf? Not us! In conjunction with the Gordon Square Society here in Antwerp, we are excited to host back-to-back Virginia Woolf events in June.
The first will be our monthly book club, on Thursday, June 19th, in which we will be discussing the modernist classic, Mrs. Dalloway, for those who have read the classic and are eager to weigh in.
The second will be a candlelit, guided reading of selected parts of the text by renowned Belgian author and scholar Kristien Hemmerechts, suitable for anyone who is interested, not just people who’ve read the book, and indeed encouraged for all people who can appreciate the genius of a literary giant and feminist ahead of her time. Be there or be scared.
*For the guided reading, the text will be read in English but the commentary will be in Dutch.
*No physical tickets will be issued; your name is added to our guest list.
*Tickets include a free drink from our bar.
